Remembering Amnesia

I really enjoy watching movies especially action ones and one of my favourite action movies is Bourne Identity. The storyline is great and I love the character that Matt Damon plays, especially his ability to kick  some serious butt.

Two weeks ago I moved, and not just down the road but interstate, and for me it’s been really challenging because im no longer in my comfort zone. My networks aren’t as strong here, im wanting to pursue a different career path and finding a church community to join and serve in is not an easy thing. It has felt like a bit of a movie. During this time I have found myself identifying with some of  Jason Bourne’s character , and unfortunately it doesn’t involve any hectic martial art skills. It’s his struggle to remember who he is, his mission and what and who is important to him. It seemed like there were obstacles around every corner.

Thankfully my life is not a movie, even though it can certianly feel like one massive drama at different times. I think its safe to say that when things get tough we can oftent forget our purpose and the things that are important to us, and its really important  to have people and things that know us and remind us why, who and where.

So like Jason Bourne , its been a time of loosing my amnesia and remembering the important things that will allow me to move forward. My mission, other than finding a job that isnt meaningless, a church that i can be involved in and building other networks is to follow Jesus Christ. He has reminded me once again that he can be trusted and that if i follow him first all other things will fall into place.

Colossians 3:1-3 Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God
