The response of those early disciples was utterly astonishing. Notice that Jesus didn’t perform miracles to impress them before issuing his call. He didn’t even explain himself or his teaching , or give any idea of what would be involved in following him. Just a simple command: “Follow me…and I will send you out to fish for people” (Matthew 4:19), and immediately they responded, leaving everything behind and going with him. There was something about Jesus which called for that response. Those being addressed immediately knew they could not refuse his demands. – Peter Maiden, Discipleship Matters
Good point! It’s an important distinction to follow Him because of who He is, not because of what He does.

How great is God? I wonder if they felt something a connection. Isn’t it great how He put a big desire inside every one for Himself.?

GREAT! Leaving nets and family behind, climbing up tree’s just to get a glimpse and running to your people shouting see a man who told me everything I ever did.. That’s a connection for sure. Thanks for dropping by

It’s even more incredible when you think they were only converted towards the end of JESUS’ ministry… when He breathed the Holy Spirit on them 🙂
