I have been sitting with these couple of verses and find them Sharp, Helpful and not to mention Gods sense of humour chucked in there.
Chapter 3: 12-13 See to it, brothers and sisters, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God. But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called today, so that none of you may be hardened by sins deceitfulness.
- Sharp because we are told what leads us to turn away from the living God.
- Helpful because we are given a practical way to move forward
- Gods humour because it says “As long as it is called today” which means he knows our hearts and minds and how lazy we can be, he isn’t letting us off the hook that easy.
So lets not take the day off when it comes to encouraging each other and preaching to ourselves. Walking away from God doesn’t usually happen over night and we don’t often realise how hard our hearts can become until its to late. Is there someone you can encourage this week? Do you need encouraging? We have a responsibility to come along side our brothers and sisters in Christ.
As always thanks for reading and feel free to leave a comment.
Good job, Dave. Short, but filled with good advice and encouragement.

It has been going overall good. A little tight on stress and worry sometimes, but I’m leaning on trusting God. ๐

That passage has taken a spin or two through my noggin, too. Love this – so true. Unbelief is that sneaky little root of practically every sin in some way or another. I know I often need encouragment to keep fighting the good fight against it! ๐
Goodness, am I ever behind in my reading. Glad I didn’t miss this one entirely!
