Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise. Give thanks to him and bless his name – Psalm 100:4
One thing that stands out in this verse, is the call to enter into God’s presence with thanksgiving and Praise. Because our souls can be so fragile, many christians find it hard to come to God with an attitude of thanksgiving. Praising God then feels more like a chore than a natural part of christian living.
One way we can practice coming into God’s presence with thanksgiving and praise, is to use worship music to guide us. This helps us shift our focus from ourselves to God and also reminds us of who he is and his excellent works.
The Psalmist’s call for thanksgiving and praise when we enter into God’s presence, allows for a more life giving fellowship experience with our creator.
So, will you join me in entering Gods gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise?
Father God, it can be hard to give you thanks and praise. Help us to take seriously the call to have an attitude of thanksgiving, when we come into your presence. In Jesus name, Amen.
